Have you ever met somebody extremely charismatic? Chances are that you have. They usually have a magnetic energy that draws people towards them.
A lot of the great leaders in history have this trait. Politicians, Hall of Fame athletes, and the list goes on. They tend to have an advanced understanding of psychology and use it to their advantage when dealing with people.
Although charisma is generally seen as a trait that people have naturally, it certainly can be learned. Everybody has the ability to be powerfully charismatic. Heres how. Focus on 2 things: Curiosity and Likability.
Curiosity
“Be Interested, not interesting”.
People love themselves. They love hearing the beautiful sound of their name being called. And they love sharing their thoughts. Powerfully charismatic people know this and help people talk about themselves through genuine curiosity.
They always make the conversation about the other person. They spend the majority of the time asking questions about their life. Finding out what’s new. Learning about what they’re up to next. And most importantly, being present and using active listening.
This allows them to discover what other people are truly passionate about. And once you get people talking about their passions, they’ll never stop. It’s a beautiful thing because you get to learn a lot about a person in these situations, especially if your curiosity is genuine.
Likability
This one is easy, smile. A smile is the strongest way for us to communicate to someone that we’re friendly. It communicates that we are not a threat, but rather that we are someone who can be seen as a friend.
Remember, this has to be genuine in order for it to work. You need to find that happy place in your mind, and let it show through your smile. People can see right through the fake. So practice, then implement.
Curiosity and likability bring people together and inspire happiness. And when done the right way, powerful charisma is created.
